Above is the contour drawing of a typical Sheffield size sloop, "Spider T" was built by W H Warren in 1926. The stern section to frame 16 and the forward section from 32 to 38 seem to be the standard hull configuration for this size of sloop, the forward frames 1c to 9c and aft frames 1c to 5c are also of a standard configuration having been repeated on all of the sloop hull plans examined at the Hull Maritime Museum. The depth of hold and the width of the cargo hatch are the only outward variations between vessels.

Spider T, official number 149049 was built at New Holland and launched on 18th January 1926, she was delivered to J J Tomlinson of Thorne on 17th February 1926. With a dead weight of 140 tons and a gross reg tonnage of 70 & 40/100ths she was registered on the British Registry of Ships as 24/1926. Spider was mortgaged to Midland Bank Limited on 12th March 1926 as security on account. That mortgage was discharged on 3rd June 1942. She was later reregistered as a motor barge on 3rd January 1943.

"Spider T" is sailing again today and is the only Sheffield size of sloop that has been re-rigged.
